Komyobo Temple
This temple has a wide variety of attractions, including Chinese junipers and a five-ring pagoda.
It was founded by Gyoki Shonin in 730 during the Nara period, and numerous legends have been handed down about its profound origins.
The precincts are home to a 7. 9-meter tall 13-story stone monument (a National Important Cultural Property) erected in 1294, and a giant Chinese juniper tree with a 4-meter circumference and 7.6-meter height (a prefectural natural monument), in which the staff of Honen Shonin is said to have been planted. The area is also home to a number of other historic sites.
