Fireworks Museum

Ichikawa fireworks’ roots are said to be the signal fire Takeda Shingen used to use in battles during the age of provincial wars.
It was considered one of Japan’s three great fireworks during the Edo period, along with Hitachi’s Mito and Mikawa’s Yoshida.
Many fireworks are still made to this day, and it is one of the major industries in the town. At the Fireworks Museum, you can learn the history and tradition of Ichikawa fireworks through chronology tables and ancient documents.
There are also exhibitions related to fireworks, such as models of fireworks balls between 7.5cm and 60cm, their internal models, successive launch cylinders, and successive Shinmei fireworks festival posters.
