Kikuchi jinja Shrine

Built in 1870 by the order of Emperor Meiji in praise of the Kikuchi Clan who remained faithful to the imperial family.
In the northern and southern courts period, Kikuchi Taketoki, Kikuchi Takeshige, and Kikuchi Takemitsu all fought together with the imperial prince as warlords of the southern court and are enshrined here as the main deities.
There is a historical museum in the precinct of the shrine, which houses treasures and cultural assets of the Kikuchi Clan.In spring, the approach is lined with cherry blossom trees on either side, making for a mysterious world feel.
