Kikuchi Clan

The Kikuchi Clan were samurai centered around the Kikuchi family and were active in Higo for around 450 years between the late Heian Period and the Muromachi Period.
They have left their mark in famous writings, including The Tale of Genji, Moko Shurai Ekotoba, and the Taiheiki, and gained great fame as one of the most powerful families in Kyushu.In the city center, you will still find many historical spots linked to the Kikuchi Clan to this day.
