Idei Potholes

Idei Potholes are natural sculptures created by the swirling rapids in the Idei valley near the prefectural border in the upper reaches of the Matsuda river.
More than 200 potholes of various sizes line the 200m long and 40m wide rock bed, creating a strange sight.
It is rare to find such a large number of potholes in Japan, and has been designated a 'Natural Monument of Kochi Prefecture'.
