Hamura Intake Weir (Tamagawa Aqueduct Intake)

In 1653, the brothers Tamagawa Shoemon and Seiemon created the Tamagawa Josui (Tamagawa Water Supply System) to relieve water shortages caused by the rapid population growth in Edo(Tokyo).
At its intake, you can see the characteristic wooden style of the weir.
There is a bronze statue of the Tamagawa brothers overlooking the first water gate.
