The Otake's House Memorial

This museum exhibits the belongings of Kan'ichi Otake (1860-1944), a politician from Nakanoshima that made great efforts to promote the development of his hometown, including the renovation of the Kariyada River and the creation of the Okouzu Diversion.
Surrounded by greenery, the memorial hall is a designated cultural asset of Nagaoka City.
The garden in which the bronze statue of Kan'ichi Otake stands was selected as one of the top 100 scenic spots in Niigata Prefecture, and is filled with beautiful cherry blossoms in the spring.
