Koishikawa Botanical Garden (Gardens of The Graduate School of Science, The University of Tokyo)

This site was originally a secondary villa for the fifth shogun, Tokugawa Tsunayoshi, the daimyo of the then Tatebayashi domain.
As the oldest botanical garden in Japan, it was established as "Koishikawa Oyakuen" in 1684, and then the "Koishikawa Yojosho" clinic was founded there in 1722.
The garden became a part of the University of Tokyo in 1877.
