Jimbocho Book Town
In Jimbocho town (in the Kanda area), are about 180 bookstores making it the largest antique bookstore district in Japan, and also the largest in the world.
There are large general bookstores and small specialty stores, and many of the antiquarian bookstores are specialty stores.
In addition to old maps from the Edo period (1603-1868), ukiyoe prints, and valuable books from the Meiji (1868-1912), Taisho (1912-1926), and Showa (1926–1989)
periods, there are also stores specializing in manga.
This town is full of the history of Japanese books.
