The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo

The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, located near the Imperial Palace, is the first national art museum in Japan. It has one of the largest collections in Japan, with more than 13,000 pieces, including important cultural properties such as Yokoyama Taikan, Hishida Haruso, and Kishida Ryusei.
The MOMAT Collection, a curation of about 200 works from the collection gives an overview of more than 100 years of Japanese art history.
The museum also offers the "Collection Guide," an interactive program that explains the artworks, and special exhibitions introducing domestic and international artwork.
