Ano Ichirizuka (National Historic Site)
Two Edo-period ichirizuka (mileposts denoting 1 ri = approx. 3.9 km) on the old Tokaido Road.
In 1604 (Keicho 9), Tokugawa Ieyasu ordered that ichirizuka be set up along both sides of the Tokaido.
It is very rare in Japan these days to have ichirizuka mounds remaining on both sides of the road in one place, making this a valuable historic site.
