Zeniaraibenzaiten Ugafukujinja Shrine

When Minamoto no Yoritomo, the first shogun of the Kamakura Shogunate, prayed to save people from famine, Ugafukujin, who was believed to be a god of fortune, appeared in his dream and told him about this spring water.
Hojo Tokiyori, the fifth regent of the Kamakura shogunate, also worshipped this deity, washing his coins and praying for prosperity.
Even today, there are many people who come to wash their money.
