Shinkoji Temple
The Shinko Temple of the Soto School of Zen Buddhism was founded 460 years ago.
It has been gathering attention due to the grounds it has dedicated to the "Jumoku-So", or tree burial, a form of natural burial.
The temple is also involved in the development of various projects, such as the cultivation of pesticide-free rice and forest maintenance, as well as the "Satoyama Zen Center", an open temple where flowers bloom through all four seasons.
