Shoshazan Engyoji Temple

Engyoji Temple is a temple of the Tendai sect of Buddhism, founded in 966 by the priest Shoku Shonin during the Heian period.
It is the 27th station on a pilgrimage route to 33 sacred places of Kannon worship scattered throughout the six prefectures of the Kinki region and Gifu Prefecture.
It is also a popular location where Hollywood movies and Japanese taiga dramas are filmed.
