Aiba no Tsuka (Mound of the beloved horse)
The tomb of Naikiguro, a horse given to Motochika Chosokabe by Hideyoshi Toyotomi.
According to the Tale of Tosa (Tosa Monogatari), during the battle of Hetsugigawa, the chain of command of the Shikoku forces was split by the onslaught of the Satsuma forces.
With only 21 cavalrymen left, and unsure whether his father Nobuchika was alive or dead, Motochika concluding that his fortunes were running out, abandoned his own horse to fight his way through the enemy ranks.
However, seeing this one of his retainers provided Motochika with his horse, Naikiguro (horse), which appeared from nowhere to carry him through enemy lines to safety.
