Mt. Iide

Located in Bandai-Asahi National Park, the 2105-meter-high Mt. Iide is a majestic mountain range that straddles the three prefectures of Yamagata, Fukushima, and Niigata.
The town is home to the Dainichisugi Trailhead where the Dainichisugi Climbing Hut stands.
Mt. Iide, which has long been a place of mountain worship and is still visited by many climbers, is one of the 100 most famous mountains in Japan.
The strong, moist winds from the Sea of Japan and the enormous snowfall make it possible to see a variety of rare alpine plants during the summer climbing season.
