Kawashiri: A Treasure Trove of Stone Buddhas—The Multi-Deity Stone Buddhist Images of Kitanoya/Nakanoya

There are many stone Buddhas in Kawashiri.
In the place where the stone Buddhas of Kitanoya are enshrined you will find a twin Amitabha kasatoba stupa and many five-ring pagodas installed as well.
A little bit separated from them there is also a natural stone Buddha statue.
In Nakanoya there are multi-deity stone Buddhist images and Mantra of Light itahi memorial towers.
In Uchikoshi there are also Amitabha triad (Buddha with two Bodhisattvas) stone image kasatoba stupas, and Koshin pagodas in the men's area.
On the way down from Horinji Temple you can savor nature and make a pilgrimage to the various stone Buddhas.

This is essentially a walking tour. However, if you go in a group it's convenient if you go in two cars—park one down below and the other in the parking lot close to Horinji Temple. Then one group can walk downward while the other walks upward to take the cars.
It's a serene location where you also have a chance to see pheasants.
