Otoshi Jinja Shrine in Maki and Otoshi Jinja Shrine in Terada

Although we know from its construction commemoration sign that Otoshi Jinja Shrine in Maki was built in 1269 (Einin 4), there is no such documentation for Otoshi Jinja Shrine in Terada, which is said to have been constructed in 850 (Kasho 3) during the reign of Emperor Montoku.
The shrines and temples in this region were almost completely burned down by the forces of Nobunaga Oda toward the end of the 16th century, and almost all were later rebuilt.

The grounds blanketed in quiet stillness are meticulously cleaned and carefully protected. These are healing spaces that fascinate everyone.
These are places you can't afford to miss if you're strolling through or exploring the Maki / Terada Districts.
