Toyono Farmers Market "Shino no Sato"

"Shino" is the posthumous name given to Ukon Takayama's wife Justa.
The grounds behind this farmers market are the site of the former Yono Castle, and Shino was born on these grounds as the daughter of Lord Kuroda, the lord of the castle.
Her birthplace is immediately behind the farmers market, and a memorial monument has been erected there.
The farmers market was opened and named "Shino no Sato" in the hopes it would pass on the tradition of these origins and develop into one of Toyono's agricultural and tourism bases.

In the western part of Toyono the Tourist Information Center in front of Myoken-Guchi Station on the Nose Electric Railway are in charge of introducing sightseeing spots and so on, but in the eastern part of Toyono the staff at Shino no Sato take care of it.
