Kofuso

Kofuso

On February 26, 1936, an aborted attempt at a coup known as the “2-26 incident (February 26 Incident)” occurred, which was an unprecedented incident in Japan’s modern history.
The only site of this incident located outside of Tokyo was at this place, known as Yugawara’s “Kouhuu-sou”.
The “Kouhuu-sou” was used to be an annex building of the Japanese traditional hotel (Ryokan) Itoya, and there are relics exhibited there, including photographs and newspapers that are reminiscent of those days. (Reservations are necessary on weekdays)
