Miho-no-Matsubara

With more than thirty thousand pine trees growing along a coast stretching about seven kilometers, Miho-no-Matsubara is a scenic area representative of Japan.
The view of the pine forests along the coast with Mt. Fuji and Izu Peninsula in the background has been a popular motif for paintings, prints, and poems since ages ago.
A walk on Kami no Michi (“gods’ road”) is recommended if you happened to visit here.
Pine trees line the way of five hundred meters between Miho-no-Matsubara’s entrance and Miho Shrine, which worships a god of matrimonial happiness.
There is also a myth that a heavenly maiden once descended here.
