A Unique Springtime Boat Ride Through Cherry Blossom Tunnels
The Gojo River Sightseeing Boat offers a limited-time experience to enjoy the beauty of cherry blossoms in Oguchi Town—from the water.
This boat was donated by Oguchi’s sister city, Matsue City in Shimane Prefecture, and was previously used for scenic cruises around Matsue Castle’s Horikawa River.
In spring, rows of Somei-Yoshino cherry trees bloom along the river, creating tunnels of blossoms overhead. Cruising beneath these pink canopies provides a magical view you can’t experience from land.
One of the highlights is the “hanaikada”—petals floating on the river’s surface after the blossoms begin to fall.
Whether during full bloom or as the petals drift down, this boat ride offers a peaceful and unforgettable way to experience Japan’s spring season.
