Otani Museum

Otani Museum is the house where the Otani brothers, Yonetaro and Takejiro, were born and raised.
Yonetaro is famous for founding Hotel New Otani.
Yonetaro Otani was a former sumo wrestler from a family of farmers.
After he founded Hotel New Otani, which is considered one of the three most prestigious, modern hotels in Japan, Yonetaro contributed a lot to the development of his home region.
Inside the house are exhibitions showing the Otani family’s accomplishments, in addition to some invaluable material related to folk culture, which allow visitors to learn about farmers’ lifestyles.
