This plaza is the closest place to Lake Ashi in the park, and you can see the Hakone Town Port area from almost the same height as the water surface.
The reed (Phragmites australis) that borders the plaza and Lake Ashi is a perennial grass of the Poaceae family, and can sometimes grow up to 5 meters in a year.

The rich ecosystem of Lake Ashi
Lake Ashi, which spreads out in the back, is home to a rich ecosystem.There are some Japanese freshwater fish such as the silverfish (Carassius auratus langsdorfii) and the smelt (Hypomesus nipponensis), but there are also specific non-native species such as the bluegill (Lepomis macrochirus) and the largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides).
