A shrine with a long history that was built over 1700 years ago

Located at the foot of Koyasan (Mt. Koya) the Niutsuhime Shrine is one of the largest in Japan, and designated an important cultural property, having been founded over 1700 years ago.
Niutsuhime, is the deity who is said to have given Koyasan to Kobo Daishi.
