In the old days, when people made a pilgrimage to Kumano, they would come to Yunomine to bathe in the hot spring water to relieve the fatigue of their journey.

The Tsubo yu natural rock onsen, is the only hot spring where people may bathe at a World Heritage site.
The Tsubo-yu offers 30 minute bathing slots.
