Bamboo tubes (bamboo divination sticks) are cooked in a pot with a gruel made from rice and adzuki beans.
The quality of the harvest that year is predicted through the amount of the gruel that ends up inside the tube.
And by examining the way the black oak (divination tree) burns, the weather for that year is also predicted.
After the ritual, the gruel is given out to the worshipers.
