Many Jomon earthenware and other artifacts unearthed form archeological sites in the Tama district are exhibited here.
There is also “Jomon Village,” an archeological-site garden with reproduced dwellings of people of the Jomon period and an area where you can experience what it was like to live in that age.
* Jomon period is the time in Japanese prehistory, dated between 14,000 BCE–1000 BCE.
