Kandani Jinja Shrine
The main hall of Kandani Jinja Shrine is a three-bay-style structure and was designated as a National Treasure in 1955.
It is one of the few National Treasures in Kagawa Prefecture.
The main hall's elegant flowing curves, cypress bark thatched roof, round pillars finished with yariganna technique, and squared pillars with "mendori" edges in the haiden (worship hall) all vividly display architectural styles from the Kamakura period.
It is said to be the oldest shrine building in Japan with a known construction date.
