A memorial dedicated to the reformer and educator Yamada Hokoku.

The Osayama Yamada Hokoku Memorial Museum commemorates Yamada Hokoku—a late-Edo Yangming (Yomei) school scholar, domain reformer, and educator often called the “Sage of Bitchu”.
The galleries chronicle his achievements and display extant books and related materials.
The surrounding area is also linked to the birthplace of his mother, Kaji.
Nearby stand two key sites: Hokoku-an, an Okayama Prefecture–designated historic site, and Hokoku-en, the place where Yamada Hokoku passed away, which also features a monument inscribed with calligraphy by Katsu Kaishu.
