A Community-Tended River of Seasonal Blossoms

The name “Flower Canal” means “a canal of flowers,” and along the riverside of the Kokai River, colorful blossoms spread like a flowing canal with the seasons.
In spring, poppies bloom in profusion, while in autumn the riverbanks are filled with cosmos.
Around the area near the Ken-nan General Disaster Prevention Center, visitors can also enjoy the striking red of spider lilies in the fall.

This seasonal “river of flowers” is made possible through the dedicated efforts of local community groups, including the Fujishiro Town Planning Council, the Kamizumi Flower Canal Club, the Kizuna Association, and NPO Kokai River Project 21.
Thanks to their care, the Kokai River Flower Canal continues to delight visitors year after year as one of Toride’s most cherished landscapes.
