Kumo no Ue no Hotel

This resort has its distinctive design based on the theme of clouds.
Next to the building is a semi-circular pond made in the image of "a terraced paddy field that reflects the starry sky and the bright blue sky," and a large west-facing window portrays the setting rays of the sun in a dramatic play of colors.
This resort is the first wooden architecture work in Yusuhara that architect Kengo Kuma, renowned for his work on Japan's New National Stadium, engaged in designing.
