Tanegashima Space Center

Tanegashima Space Center is the largest rocket-launch complex in all of Japan with a total area of close to 9.7 million square meters.
This site looks out over the southeastern edge of Tanegashima, and it's often referred to as being the world's most beautiful rocket-launch site.
The Space Center has a museum for space science and technology, which is Japan's very first exhibition center dedicated to space research and exploration.
It showcases the future of space exploration and the ways space-related research has benefited humankind, as well as rocket designs and other exhibitions.
The museum is open to the public free of charge.
There is a nicely designed plaza on-site, as well as a full-scale model rocket.
It's a gathering point for many tourists all year round.
