Monte Myojin

Mount Myojin in Oji Town rises 273.6 meters above sea level. Despite its modest elevation, the summit offers sweeping 360-degree panoramic views toward six UNESCO World Heritage properties.
These include the “Ancient Capitals of Asuka and Fujiwara,” newly inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2026. Looking toward Osaka, you can also see the area of the “Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group: Mounded Tombs of Ancient Japan,” as well as Abeno Harukas and, on especially clear days, the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge.
The hiking route to the summit is varied, and in spring you can enjoy the mountain’s natural surroundings as mountain azaleas come into bloom.
It takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes to walk from the Mount Myojin torii gate at the foot of the mountain to the summit.
