Autumn Stargazing Event at Shiawase no Mori Park — Advance Registration Required
An autumn stargazing event will take place at Shiawase no Mori Park (しあわせの森公園), next to Michi-no-Eki Katsuragi (道の駅かつらぎ), a roadside station in Katsuragi City.
The event includes telescope viewing, an introduction to autumn constellations, and a kaleidoscope-making workshop. Advance registration is required. Registration opens on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
- If the sky is cloudy, the stargazing portion will be replaced by an astronomy lecture. The kaleidoscope workshop will still be held.
- In case of rain, the event will be postponed to Sunday, October 18, 2026.

- Observe autumn constellations while learning what to look for in the night sky.
- Make your own kaleidoscope.

There are two sessions:
- Session 1: Meet at 5:00 p.m.
- Session 2: Meet at 5:50 p.m.
The workshop comes first, followed by stargazing. Each session lasts approximately two hours in total.

Approximately 20 participants per session.
Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Important Notes
- Participants will walk from the reception area to the stargazing site. The route includes a long staircase of approximately 180 steps, so please wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for walking.
- It may be cold at night, so we recommend bringing warm clothing.
- The path to the stargazing site is dark. Please bring a flashlight or another light for the path.
- Participants of junior high school age or younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Shiawase no Mori Park does not have its own parking lot. If arriving by car, please use the parking lot at Michi-no-Eki Katsuragi.

Complete the event application form and submit it at the Commerce and Tourism Promotion Division counter.

Choose the form for your preferred session:
Session 1 Registration Form — 5:00 p.m. meeting time
Session 2 Registration Form — 5:50 p.m. meeting time
If registering as a group, one representative should complete the registration.
Each registration can include up to four people, including the representative. Groups of five or more must submit separate registrations, with no more than four people on each registration.
The form also asks whether you consent to photographs taken at the event being used for publicity or shared with media outlets.

Applications will close once capacity is reached.
Before registration opens, the online forms will display the Japanese message 「公開されていません」 (“This form is not currently public”).
