In the “Alligator Garden”, there is a spot that allows visitors to see the crocodile’s ecology from under the glass ceiling.
It is very interesting to observe their bodies up side down.
In addition to the alligators, there are Cacatua moluccensis that is good at mimic and large size of tropical fish Colossoma are displayed.
In the “Botanical Garden”, tropical plants such as Bougainvillea, Hibiscus, Cattleya, Jade Vine, Bromelia, progenitor orchid and Victoria Amazonica are cultivated and exhibited in eight greenhouses.
They are grown by taking advantage of heat from the Atagawa Onsen.
9000 species of tropical plants, including flowers, trees and fruit trees are grown.
Especially spectacular are the tropical water lilies, which you can usually see about 60 kinds of.
You can also enjoy seeing a rare Amazon manatee, of which only three are housed in the world.
The “Annex Garden” is about 500m away from the main garden, and a free shuttle bus will take you there any time. (It takes 2-3 minutes)
You can see fruit trees, such as bananas, papayas, guavas, and the very mysterious miracle fruits are displayed.
You can also see western lesser pandas (red pandas), which are the only ones being raised in Japan, as well as 2 to 3 meter long crocodiles, aldabra giant tortoises and alligator turtles.
