Italian Embassy Villa Memorial Park
From the middle of the Meiji era to the early Showa era, various countries' embassies as well as many villas for foreigners were built on the shores of Lake Chuzenji, allowing it to develop as an international summer resort.
The buildings in the park were built as the villa of the Italian embassy in 1928 based on the designs of Anton Raymond, and were used by generations of ambassadors until 1997.
The "principal residence" has been recreated by reusing the floorboards, fixtures, and furniture as far as possible, and the secondary grounds have been turned into an "international summer resort history museum" that introduce the history of the years.
You can also have your fill of the rich scenery of Lake Chuzenji from within the park.
