Natural Monument Miyako Tanago Breeding and Rearing Facility

The Namegawa Eco Museum Center was completed in 2000. It serves as a central facility designed to showcase and utilize the natural and cultural heritage of Namegawa Town as a comprehensive museum (eco-museum).
The center collects and provides various information about the nature and culture of "Yatsu no Sato, Namegawa Town."
Additionally, it is involved in efforts to achieve the reintroduction of the Miyako Tanago, a freshwater fish native to Japan and designated as a national natural monument, through artificial breeding and research on its ecology.
