Ryugenji Temple, Grave of Kondo Isami
Ryugen-ji is a Soto-sect temple located a 5-minute walk from Isami Kondo's birthplace.
His tomb is found in the precinct.
After the Shogunate army lost the Boshin War (a conflict lasting from January 1868 to May 1869 between the Shogunate Army and the New Government Army), the beheaded body of Isami Kondo was handed over to Yugoro Kondo, his nephew, and it was buried in this temple near his birthplace.
There is a bust of Isami Kondo, in front of the gate.
