Torigoe Kannon Temple

A statue of the Goddess of Mercy is enshrined in a cave inside the 50m high cliff.
The surroundings are home to National Places of Scenic Beauty like "Ogami-iwa, Megami-iwa, and Mt. Torigoe", which are picturesque in unique ways in all 4 seasons.
The "Torigoe Kannon Festival" is held every year in the fall, during which you can buy the Torigoe local specialty, "bamboo wares", try local food such as soba noodles and tenpo (a chewy dessert made from sesame and perilla), and enjoy the stage shows.
