Tenjin-jima Marine Biological Garden 天神島臨海自然教育園

Tenjin-jima Marine Biological Garden

This natural environment features a wide variety of beach plants and coastal wildlife all around, as it is one of very few natural coastal areas left on the Miura Peninsula.
Tenjin Island and Kasashima, together with the surrounding ocean area (around 54 hectares in size), have crinum lily flowers, a warm-weather beach plant that grows around the northern areas there in the summer, and there are also scenic spots and notable sights to enjoy, as well as officially certified natural monuments for Kanagawa Prefecture.
The visitor center showcases photographs and other materials related to beach plants, insects and fish local to Tenjin Island. Fishing equipment and more from Sajima are on display as well.
