Tateyama Ashikura Furusato Koryukan Exchange Center / Mandala Dining

In the Edo Period Asakuraji was the home of religion in Tateyama, and many pilgrims visited the area to perform mountain worship.
At "Mandala Dining" you can enjoy meals that include edible wild plants handpicked by locals. Such meals were once offered to worshipers who stayed here in temples and shrines.
The menu includes local cuisine such as "tsuboni" and "yakitsuke".
Popular handmade "takube" masks are also available.

※ "Takube" is a sacred beast that used to appear in Toyama to make prophecies about epidemic diseases and prevent their spread during the Edo period.
