Ruins of Yokosuka Castle

During the end of the Sengoku period, Tokugawa Ieyasu(1543-1616) who was the founder and first shogun of the Tokugawa shogunate of Japan, ordered his vassal to build Yokosuka Castle as a strategic base for reclaiming the ruins of Takatenjin Castle. The ruins of Yokosuka Castle are a nationally designated cultural property.
