Okitsu-gu Yohaijo
It was built to worship Okinoshima Island, where the entry of general people is strongly restricted.
At the Grand Festivals in spring and autumn, its doors are opened, and the Okitsu-gu Festival is conducted while offering a prayer to Okinoshima, located far away.
The whole of Okinoshima is the grounds of Munakata Taisha, the island is regarded as a god itself, and a prayer for the safety of the imperial family and the nation is offered to the sacred island.
