Una residenza di quasi 200 anni

The Shibuya family served as the main family in charge of Satsuma-mura Village for generations during the Edo period, and they were in charge of Kamagaya-mura Village during the Meiji period.
This residence is also the birthplace of Soji Shibuya, a member of the political faction "Sekihotai," and an imperial loyalist samurai who opposed the Tokugawa shogunate during the Bakumatsu period (late Edo era).
The main building, which was erected in 1826, is built from wood with a hipped roof. The residence's design features a rice storehouse and gate, as well as a plot for cultivation, a surrounding grove of trees, and more. To this day, this site remains as a site that truly befits an old-established family of this area.
*The interior is not open to the public since it has not been renovated yet. You can only tour it from the road outside.
