Yusuhara-za (Theater)

This theater incorporates a blending of Japanese and Western styles of the Taisho period and has always enjoyed the adoration of the locals as a place of amusement — hosting plays, kabuki, and playing movies.
The beautiful wooden surfaces of the stage, the path leading up to it, and the roof enchant the viewers.
There were plans to demolish the aging building; however, cherishing its shared history alongside the townsfolk and its rarity as the only wooden constructed theater in the prefecture of Kochi, the theater was restored and relocated to its current spot.
