Cancellation Notice: Yokosuka Kaikoku Fireworks Festival 2025 & Japan–U.S. Friendship Day 2025

We regret to inform you that the Japan–U.S. Friendship Day 2025, scheduled for Sunday, October 5, 2025, has been canceled due to the U.S. government shutdown, as announced by the U.S. Navy Yokosuka Base.

Following discussions with the police and related organizations, it was determined that the Yokosuka Kaikoku Fireworks Festival 2025 could not be held safely, and therefore this event is also canceled.

The fireworks festival was expected to draw about 190,000 visitors, with nearly half of them watching from within the U.S. Navy Yokosuka Base. However, after receiving the notice from the Base, it was concluded that no alternative viewing site of this scale could be secured, leading to the unavoidable decision to cancel.

We sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the event.

Refunds will be provided for general sponsor seating tickets. Details will be announced on the official event website from tomorrow onward:
