Daifuku-ji Temple (Gake Kannon)

It is said to have been founded by Gyoki in 717, and 11 standing Kannon figures are carved into the rock face of the mountain as Buddhist prayers for marine safety and good catches.
The temple dedicated to Kannon that looks as if it is adhering to the cliff is rare even in Japan.
In addition, the decorative ceiling painting in the temple dedicated to Kannon is also wonderful and worth a look.
