Yayoi Museum / Takehisa Yumeji Museum

Yayoi Museum, established in 1984, houses the works of various artists, including those of Kayoi Takahata, an illustrator active during the Taisho and Showa periods.
The Takehisa Yumeji Museum, which became independent from the Yayoi Art Museum in 1990, has a permanent collection of works by Takehisa Yumeji, a painter that came to represent the genre of Taisho Romanticism (a term referring to works that evoke the atmosphere of the Taisho Period). The museum also holds special exhibitions four times a year.
