Experience the intensity of the Kanto Festival up close! Immerse yourself in Akita's traditional culture all at once.

Akita City Folk Performing Arts Heritage Center, commonly known as "Neburi Nagashi Kan," is a facility that introduces the traditional events and folk performing arts of Akita City. Here, you can experience Akita's rich culture, including the "Akita Kanto Festival," one of the three major festivals in the Tohoku region, and the "Tsuchizaki Port Hikiyama Festival."

Inside the center, actual Kanto poles used in the festivals are on display, allowing visitors to feel their impressive presence up close. The Kanto poles arranged in the three-story-high exhibition hall are especially breathtaking. Visitors can also touch the Kanto poles and experience their weight and balance firsthand.
Moreover, from April to October, on weekends and public holidays, live Kanto performances are held, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere.

Additionally, the Neburi Nagashi Kan aims to preserve and pass down Akita City's folk performing arts, offering a variety of exhibitions and events within the facility. For example, there are programs such as Akita folk song workshops and special performances of Akita Bansai, providing opportunities to gain a deeper understanding of the region's culture.
